Spider Man

It's the time of year when the spiders go crazy. Almost every square inch of the place is covered in webs. You have to watch where you are going. If you don't you could end up wearing that scary looking thing in the middle.

What's For Dinner

Yeah, that's me cooking dinner.



I wanted shrimp stir fry and the only way I could get it was to make it myself.

Diving In

The outdoor pools may be closed but the 2011 Football Pool is back in business, hopefully with some high tech (for me) improvements. This morning I got a lesson on cutting and pasting screenshots. We will be using the USA Today lines this year instead of the Washington Post's.

Happy Labor Day!

Even though I am no longer a part of the workforce I am still celebrating. Daughter and future Son in Law brought over a couple of bags of crabs plus all the other things you need to go with them. It's hard to believe that summer is over. Time sure flies when you're having fun.

What a Mess!

Even though the yard is a disaster, I'm feeling pretty good because I am NOT crammed in the basement anymore with all the damn animals. Last night was hell, with puking dogs, fighting cats and screaming birds. Everyone was unnerved by what was going on outside.



I won't be needing to go look for any firewood for a long time. The yard is full of downed trees.



I won't be practicing golf out here for a while. I can't believe, in all that wind, that my pin (the little red golf flag) is still standing.



What a freaking mess. It's always something around here. The official tally since we moved here is 2 hurricanes, 2 ice storms, 1 tornado, 2 blizzards and countless bad thunderstorms. What's next?

Road Trip to NYC

Daughter's first dress fitting was Friday morning so we headed up to New York.



Driving through the city is not my idea of a good time.



Even though I was one of the only guys around, Kleinfeld's was fun.



The showroom was amazing.



Lunch was the best part. I got a huge plate of barbecue at Daughter's future in-law's family restaurant. Too bad they are all the way up in Jersey. I could definitely eat more of this.

Before the Quake

The morning of the quake, we had put some fall plants into the empty garden over at Granddaddy's house.



The kale was still going strong but everything else was gone.



We put in Swiss chard, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, napa cabbage and two more kinds of kale.



Over on the side of the house the pumpkins are still going strong.



We have picked three, there are two more ready to pick and there are several more babies on the vine.



Now we just have to figure out what to do with them all.
