Road Trip

Guess where I was today? Not playing golf....

I was here....

Playing with these guys....

...and this guy.

 Standing in line....

...for this...

 ..and this.

Looking at this guy...

 ...and these guys.

Watching my new four legged friend Pete...

...doing his thing in front of a crowd.

But the best part was just being here.

Friday Night

The weather has cooled down so it was a perfect night for the Friday Farmer's Market and Cruise In. It's always like a mini vacation when we head to town even though it's just a few blocks away.

As usual there were great cars to look at...

...and good things to eat.

I also raided the candy shop

The night was so nice that we took took a walk on the pier as the sun was going down.

It's been a long time since we went on the pier and were surprised it has turned into a memorial of sorts. The benches have been dedicated to loved ones who are gone. It was even more of a surprise to see how many were lost on 9/11.

Along with the expected flags and flowers, someone had placed little stones on all of the name plates, a gesture that was surprisingly touching.

Father's Day Part 2

When my Father's Day at Top Golf turned into an awkward mess, Daughter decided to let it be known to the management. She used to be an event planner so she has an idea how things ought to go. When they don't, she is quick to speak up.

Graciously, they offered us a free day of golf along with free food and drinks to make up for all the confusion and misunderstandings surrounding the previous event.

Instead of it turning into an awkard re-do, it turned out to be a great day.

As usual, their food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly and attentive.

The only snafu was that our scoring monitor crashed and had to be replaced in the middle of a game.

The tech support guy was amazing. He switched out our monitor with a replacement in record time while entertaining us with a little floor to ceiling gymnastics.

If you look up at the ceiling you can see the crazy amount of wiring each bay requires. The fact that they had us back up and running in minutes without losing the game in progress is impressive.

It would have been a perfect day if Daughter hadn't beat me. I guess you can't have everything.
Thank you Top Golf.
Your customer service is the best!

That's All There Is

This is it for the squash this year. The plants all fell over dead without producing much of anything.

The only thing really producing are the tomatoes and even they are on the icky side. It's been too hot. It's been too dry. Now it's too wet. It was always something. We fed a lot of bugs and that's about it. This may be the last garden. It has not been fun.

Vive le Tour!

No one is a bigger fan of the Tour de France than I am. We usually always have a French dinner on the day the riders get to Paris to celebrate.

This year I had to do the shopping myself. Tacos and beans are French, right?

Working Out

I've been putting something together today.

While She and The Daughter were shopping in Marshall's yesterday, I found this in the ladies section, dirt cheap.

I've wanted one of these for a long time.

It seems like lots of fun on TV.

I bet I am going to be sore as sh*t tomorrow.

Friday Night Classic

It's already July and I just made it to my first local farmer's market and classic car rally of the year.

As usual, there was a lot to see.

There were new things and some old favorites.

The Packard that this was attached to was getting lots of attention.

Every Friday the city of North Beach puts on quite an impressive street festival with wine, crabs, art and every beautiful veggie you can think of.

The boardwalk and the beach offer lots of entertainment as well.

We are only minutes away from all this and we take it for granted. Not sure why-but I hope to go back again next week.
