Rocket Science

 

The small closet under the stairs holds a new very expensive toy.

 

We had a new water softener put in and it cost big, big bucks.

 We've got hoses and wires everywhere.

 

 This time we had a chlorinator installed. Our water smelled like dog spit.

 The downside is that I have to start hauling this stuff from the hardware store again. We abandoned our old softener years ago after we kept digging dead mice out of it but the water has been so terrible for the past few months we are willing to risk it.

 For crying out loud. The things has only been installed for two days and It's already telling me we screwed it up.

Jeeze............this ain't good.

For Sale

I've finally decided that restoring the Mustang is a project that is too much work for me to tackle at this time. Not having a garage has been a real problem. Another problem is that someone stole the poster I put up in the grocery store and then never called. Not cool, man. Not cool.

A Family Fourth

 Golf in the morning, crabs in the afternoon and sparklers at night. Who cares if Arthur canceled the fireworks. We didn't miss them at all.

 You know you are a Marylander if your tablecloth is newspapers.

That's what I'm talking about.

$200 a bushel but worth every penny.

 For starters we had Chicago style hot dogs.

 For dessert we had the usual.

 The Grandbaby can put away some crabs and watermelon.

 It didn't get dark enough for sparkler action before everyone went home...

...but that didn't keep me from having fun anyway.

Wild and Crazy

On Saturday I wanted to go watch the Dragonboat races at North Beach.

Instead I got to babysit Her new dog while She took photos of the event.

 The new pup doesn't get out much and the crowd and loud music scared her to death.

We found a quiet place where they load the boats and spent some time getting used to the place.

We couldn't see the race but we did get to see some of the behind the scenes preparation for the teams.

It wasn't long before she was comfortable enough to make a nuisance of herself in other ways.

Once she figured out it was okay to walk there was no stopping her from wanting to jump on everyone there. Time to go. Next year she's staying home.

Sláinte!

There's no green to be seen anywhere. We got six inches of snow last night and it's still coming down.

It was the kind that hung in the trees. It wasn't wet, but it was heavy.

It wasn't much good for sleigh riding.

We tried.

The pup came out but got too cold from diving in the snow drifts.

This better be the last time this year that I have to shovel the white stuff. I'm ready for some green.

An Early St. Patrick's Day

 I braved the pre-snow panic in the grocery stores to bring home the traditional St Patty's Day dinner supplies.

 Finding the corned beef was tricky. Everyone was out.

 The bakery supplied the sweet stuff.

 We went ahead and celebrated on Sunday. With this winter storm in the forecast, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

 I can't see cooking corned beef on the wood stove.

Beer and cupcakes. That's what I call a dessert.

Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!

 It seems more like Christmas than Mardi Gras.

 There's been a lot of snow and it's been really cold.

 A good drink will keep you warm.

 So will a chestful of beads. I've got a lot of crazy beads.

 The two pups love the snow.

This one wasn't crazy about sledding though.
