This is certainly not as much fun as it looks. I did manage to finish Phantom Prey by John Sandford. It was another miserable, hot weekend thanks to yet another tropical storm coming up the coast so I probably would have been doing nothing anyway.
You won't be seeing much happening on the blog for a while. Crawling around under the car is not what the doctor ordered. I still have big plans. I just need some time for the knee to heal.
Behind this giant mess is the downstairs wood stove. I am going to have to figure something out before it gets cold. Good thing SHE can't complain about it. You should see what the living room looks like. She knits. And weaves. And quilts. And spins. And....just take my word for it. It's a big mess too.
That is not my pool. That is my car covered in it's blue tarp. Thanks to that hurricane/tropical storm off the coast, we have had rain, rain and more rain for several miserable hot, muggy days. How many days until fall?
It's a good thing my driveway can't be seen from the road. Or else SHE wouldn't be letting me do any of this in daylight. Mess or no mess, accidents will happen. Ouch.
3/4 th of our kids will be celebrating a birthday this weekend. Here is a little reminder of how cute you girls were way back when. I'm not sure who that good looking guy with the great beard and the shag hairdo is. I am going to spare you this year Zak but check out your Mom's blog. I bet she didn't!
A guy has got to do something to keep busy especially on rainy days. Here I am working on my uhhh...umm....football picks, that's it. Yeah. My football picks. I just wish I wasn't so color blind.
Not only is it hot here. It is wet. It has been raining almost everyday. And not just rain but RAIN. Buckets of the stuff. The ground is so soft the trees are falling over. My neighbor was trapped in her car when one came down on her. The Mustang is waiting patiently for the sun to shine again. In case you are wondering about the wheelbarrow. I'm using it to hold down the trunk. I removed the latch.
This is all of the 12 year old gas that I took out of the Mustang a few days ago. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to do with it. There seems to be a lot of different ways to dispose of it. Some say to use small bits of it mixed with regular gas in simple engines like your lawn mower. I don't think so. Others say to leave it out to evaporate. That can't be good for the air. I finally called our local landfill and they said to bring it down. I'm hoping they will have the right answers when I get there.
