Life Goes On

Snow or no snow. Cold or no cold-the oils got to be changed.

Look What I Did

I shoveled the whole damn driveway myself. After having to walk to the top of the hill for 2 weeks I decided enough was enough. It took me 6 hours of solid shoveling but now I can park near the house again. Good thing because I can hardly walk.

Mountains

Everywhere you look you see giant piles of dirty snow.

And they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Happy Valentine's Day

We told each other that due to the snow disaster we would skip Valentine's this year and she fell for it. This morning I surprised her with this. For friends and family: Don't get excited. Ignore the For My Wife card. They just don't make cards that say For the One I Have Lived With For 26 Years. Not yet anyway.
Her reaction: "For crying out loud, you know I have a temporary crown in my mouth." Ahhhh.....romance.

Breakfast of Champions

It took a big glass of courage to be able to do this.

I'm hoping the deck stays where it should while I get this ice out of the gutters.

The ice has been falling into the heat pump fan and stopping the blades.
It's always something.

Neither Rain Nor Sleet......

I made a lousy 2 hour drive to work today in the worst blizzard we have had since the 1800's and then was told the Post Office was closing and to clear out by 11:00. You think they could have told us that in a phone call. We all had to turn around and leave in the worst part of the storm to get back home. Someone needs to get their shit together because this is the 2nd time this has happened in a week.

In Hibernation

Someone needs to beat up that groundhog. Enough is enough.

Ta Da!

I'm looking pretty happy here, but it all started like this.

SHE said I was crazy for doing this while it was still snowing but it feels good to be the only one in the neighborhood dug out. Too bad there was no place to go.

I also have to add that I didn't do this all by myself. As much as SHE was complaining, SHE was working as hard as I was. In weather like this, it takes two.

White Out

Under an official blizzard warning, at 6 AM I am back out shoveling off the deck for fear of collapse.
I can't make it up the driveway to my car so forget about trying to get to work this morning.

The front bushes may be goners. This is not the fluffy stuff of last weekend.
They say to expect another 10 to 15 inches by tonight.
Crap.

Breaking News: The US Postal Service officially closed for the day. It took a state of emergency but finally they did something that makes sense.
