Knock, Knock

This morning we had a big green visitor.

As far as bugs go, this guy is pretty special.

I just hope the cats don't see it.

Happy Memorial Day!

We never cook out much anymore. Too lazy.

But this weekend we decided to fire up the grill.

The kids came by and brought their own favorites to add to the feast.

I supplied the crabs.

Doesn't this make you hungry?

Everyone helped with the picking, including those who don't eat crabs.

We had a little bit of everything and a lot of beer.

There were even pretty flowers. Thanks kids!

Tan Line

I really need to take my socks off when I am golfing.

This looks ridiculous.

Maiden Voyage

I had the new mower a whole three days before I had a reason to use it.

It took a while to get used to it but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty smooth sailing.

Now I need a big straw hat, an ipod full of good music and a beer.

Hooked Again

I've been working on something.

I got tired of working on other people's designs so I made one up of my own.

Can you read what it says?

How about now?

A Big New Toy

Yesterday morning a big white truck stopped at the top of our steep driveway.

Two really nice guys unloaded my new toy.

There was some assembly required.

I didn't get the maiden voyage. One of the guys had to coast it down the driveway since it had no gas in it. He managed to hit every pot hole.

After filling it up, I had my lesson.

In spite of the drizzle, I got to ride it around the yard a few times.

I got to look over the engine before I had to cover it up for the night. Not having a garage I had to make due with a cover-for now.

As soon as it is dry, the giant yard is getting its first cut by something other than our ancient gas push mowers. There are some things I am willing to die doing, but cutting the grass ain't one of them-not any more.

Congrats to the Grad!

Daughter #2 graduated with her Masters this weekend. My gift was a tiny key that hopefully unlocks a bright future. I gave Daughter #1 the same thing when she earned the same honor last year.

We celebrated the event in one of her favorite places near campus, Chevy's. The Margaritas are very good.

Happy Mother's Day

Mothers are good for lots of things.

Baking cookies and....

...growing roses.

My mom is 92 years young and still going strong.
Happy Mother's day!

Sheep and Wool

Why am I smiling? Because I am on the way home from the 2012 Md Sheep and Wool Festival. I made it through another year.

It's not the worst place to spend a Saturday.

There is a lot of stuff to look at.

There is good stuff to eat.

I had a lamb burger for lunch.

I had french fries for a snack.

I got to feed sheep. You can't do that everyday.

I got to see sheep dogs herd sheep.

I like sheep dogs, especially Border Collies.

I even like to look at the fake sheep. There are a lot of real sheep there but just as many fake ones.

Everywhere you look there are sheep. Some even have coats on.

The best part of the whole weekend is that She is going back tomorrow-and I'm not.
