Independence Day

It's the 4th of July and things are cooking.

We were invited to help #1 Son and wife inaugurate their new grill today.

It certainly did its job well.

The corn looked scary but tasted great.

There was something for everyone.

Dessert was perfect for this really hot day.

It was in the high 90's once again so the cookout was mostly an indoor affair.

It was even too warm out for the big guy. He's no puppy anymore.

On the way home I took advantage of Virginia's lower tobacco tax. These were $5. At home they are now $7. It's time to quit.

The way home took us over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge so we had a nice view of the city on its special day. We did have to wonder about those who were braving the heat in order to see the fireworks this year. They must all be crazy.

All the way home there were reminders of what day it was. This is a motorcycle flying down the Beltway.
Happy Birthday America!
